Hello, Under 'other devices' in Device manager I have two devices that windows cannot find drivers for. The only info device manager gives me is that one is an Sm bus controller and the other is a pci device. I have disabled them, because when I try to uninstall them my computer tries to reinstall on bootup. I'd like to delete whatever file(s) are causing this, but as i say, I have no other information. My machine is win7 pro 64 bit. The processor is AMD A4-4000 APU, the chipset is Trinity AMD F15, and the display adaptor is AMD radeon. I mention this because I googled the same two invalid device drivers and saw the problem was resolved by downloading the latest amd drivers. However, Uninstalling and reinstalling my amd crap (I'm now an intel fan) didn't help. Everything seems to work ok, I just want to get rid of these two invalid devices. Have you already installed the AMD Catalyst (graphics) drivers for your system? The HD74xxG driver should fix the SMBus issue.

(It's likely this is an ATI SB800 chip) Is your system branded? If so posting the make and model will make for an easy find for you, some branded systems will need specific drivers as they will have 'tweaked' versions of the Trinty chipset hardware. Generic drivers simply won't install. If it's an unbranded system generic drivers will normally work. For a generic solution go to your Device Manager in Windows (My Computer>System Properties>Device Manager) Then right-click the device entry with an error and choose 'Properties' Go to the 'Details' tab In the Drop-down select 'Hardware Ids' Copy the first line of the Values listed and post the results for each of the errors If you have a network connection the Windows Update may also find the drivers for you. On the Right-Click instead go for Update Driver Software and then 'Search automatically for updated driver software'.
