Sony Dcr Trv140 Driver Windows XpSony Dcr Trv140 Driver Windows Xp

I am looking for the Windows 8 driver for a Sony Handycam TRV140E. I've searched and found a lot of possible solutions to this but can't find anything that works for me. I have a Dell PC with XP SP3 and have and have used several different types of usb devices with it and have never had an issue. I downloaded the latest driver for my Camcorder and installed it and tried.

I have a Dell PC with XP SP3 and have and have used several different types of usb devices with it and have never had an issue. I downloaded the latest driver for my Camcorder and installed it and tried connecting the camera with and without the driver installed.

I've also tried this on my laptop running XP professional and get the same thing - unable to recognize device, when I plug the camera in. This is not a firewire connection, it is usb.

When I first got the camera, which was prior to this current PC, I was able to hook it up to the computer fine but the video and audio would never upload in sync. I'm out of things to try. I have a usb keyboard, a usb optical mouse, and a usb network card hooked up, with no issues. I've tried removing the network card and have also tried deleting the usb devices in device manager and have the PC re-recognize everything. I have 2 other netbooks running Windows 7 Starter Edition but, according to Sony's website, usb streaming is not supported with that OS, so I didn't even try those.
