I'm at 20% and I've only been downloading for 10 minutes. It may not be the fastest download around, but it's better than waiting.
I have a 300/20 connection now. The problem is when I download a game or update, I'm limited to 100mbps. But, if I download 3 games at once, they all download at 100mbps. It seems to be a load balancing thing. This is not ok due to it being very rare that I would download 3 games at once, but instead I would prefer the 1 game to download at 300mbps. I have an open NAT type, static IP, and am using Google DNS servers. I have a feeling there is a software filter limiting bandwidth on a single download.
Any info or suggestions? The PS4 has a gigabit nic, right? The self speed test it does is an average between your speed and the sony server speed.
I've NEVER seen my downloads get over 100Mbps, though i don't have the option for more than 100Mbps, i do get 130Mbps and my ISP has been trying to charge me more because of it for the past couple years. That's off topic. I think it is a QOS thing for their servers honestly, Sony has had some network issues in the past due to high draw demands, so this time it would make sense for them to put limiters in place to evenly distribute content for everyone. Even if that means you only can download at 100Mbps per item, cuz.
